Achieving Success By Following Father’s Footstep

I am Jaswinder Singh Sran of Village Kassoana, Tehsil Zira in Ferozpur, Punjab. In my family, besides me, I have my mother and my father. I am a graduate and have done BA from Government College, Zira. I have followed my father’s footsteps in agriculture. I have been doing agriculture for the past 5 years. I follow the conventional cycle of wheat and paddy and have started with potato cultivation also. I have all types of modern equipment such as 3 tractors (2 Johndeers and 1 Swaraj), 3 Trolleys, 1 Reaper, Potato Seeder, Harvestor, Cultivator, Leveler, Disc Harrows and Ridge Maker. I also have 4 buffalos and a calf for the dairy needs of the house.

My message to the farmers is to diversify so that they can reap more profits. The right way to diversify is to grow vegetables. I started with potatoes sometime back and I have made good profits. If the farmers can adopt cultivation of other crops along with the conventional cycle of wheat and paddy, it will be very beneficial for the farmers.

In future, I want to increase the potato crop cultivation and bring more land under potato cultivation. I also want to make cold storage to store the potatoes and other crops. I want to make more efforts to achieve more success in farming itself.
